Let’s Take a Look at – WASD 2024

Today we will be taking a look at this year’s WASD event at the Truman Brewery in London. WASD is one of my favourite gaming events in the UK due to the range of indie games showcased and opportunities to meet different developers and publishers, so it was such a pleasure to attend the event again.

Devolver Digital:

Upon arrival into the venue we were very quickly greeted by none other than the mascot for Cult of the Lamb. We took this as a sign to venture into the Devolver Digital Booth first. Here they had an amazing display where you could take photos and they also had some of their games such as Cult of the Lamb and Anger Foot available to play.

Devolver Digital also had an area where you could buy some Cult of the Lamb merch. These merch items included t-shirts, jumpers, pin badges and even the Cult of the Lamb plushie. Nearby there was also a bar where you could get Cult of the Lamb themed cups alongside some alcohol beverages and soft drinks.

A game that I really want to highlight from WASD is Pine Hearts. This cosy narrative-adventure game really stole my heart and is such a beautiful gem that I’m very happy I was able to experience.

Explore the serene scenery of Pine Hearts Caravan Park as you experience a gentle story and discover items, paths and little secrets. Pine Hearts will be releasing on Steam and Nintendo Switch on May 23rd.

Arcade Paradise VR:

Next up I wanted to talk about Arcade Paradise VR. Arcade Paradise is a business simulation game where you run a laundromat owned by your father, however behind the scenes you are quietly turning the business into an Arcade. Arcade Paradise VR is a newly released VR version of the original game released in 2022.

The team at Wired Productions did an amazing job at recreating the King Wash from Arcade Paradise as their booth at WASD. Here you were able to play Arcade Paradise VR on the Meta Quest 3, while also being able to chat to some of the publishing team at Wired Productions.

An amazing feature of the Arcade Paradise VR booth was that after you played the game you could enter a lucky dip where you could win some merch. These items included Arcade Paradise themed mystery bags, hats and posters.

Arcade Paradise VR is out now on Meta Quest 2, 3 and Pro.

Conclusion:

I just wanted to take this time to talk about how much I enjoy attending WASD events. I love having these amazing opportunities to meet new friends and catch up with other creators and people in the industry.
