Let’s Take A Look At: Caravan SandWitch
Embark on a journey across vast landscapes in Caravan SandWitch, a captivating narrative-driven exploration adventure.
A brand new adventure awaits you in Caravan SandWitch. In this cosy narrative adventure, you play as Sauge as she returns to her post-apocalyptic planet Cigalo after she receives a distress signal from her sister Garance’s ship. However, her sister went missing six years ago. Explore the world of Cigalo as you encounter a variety of characters and uncovers clues about Garance’s fate.
The gameplay mainly revolves around you driving around the city in a cute yellow caravan to complete missions/quests. Alongside the main story, there are also an array of side quests to take part in. These side quests are perfect for obtaining rewards such as parts to upgrade your caravan.
Don’t get me wrong, I make the gameplay sound simple, however the notion of driving around in your yellow caravan is honestly such a treat. Being able to explore the world in this vehicle is some of the most enjoyable aspects of this game, and definitely up there as being one of the nicest ways to traverse in a video game. The yellow caravan is symbolic of this game, and rightly so.
Another aspect that really makes this game come alive are the characters. I felt that all of them were lovable and endearing in their own unique ways. Engaging with the characters around the town and world always felt enjoyable. Also not to be biased, but there were frog characters so that is instantly a win in my book.
The aesthetics and art style are very stunning with a mix of soft colours and lighting that create a sense of calmness and cosiness. Alongside the visuals, I feel that the music and overall sound fits right at home with this style of game, especially alongside the art style. Traversing the landscapes of Cigalo with the mix of art style and soundtrack is very immersive, and I found myself most of the time just exploring without taking part in any quests.
The game allows players to enjoy their time in this world without the fear of failure. You can explore without any worry of dying or losing progress. There are no setbacks or game over screens which is perfect for those looking for a relaxing no risk, high reward story.
Alongside playing the game, I also had the pleasure of showcasing Caravan SandWitch to our community over on my Twitch channel, with the game receiving a warm and excitable reaction. It was lovely to see everyone fall in love with the characters and gameplay alongside myself. Being able to experience this game alongside the community was such a special experience for me and I am truly grateful.
Overall, this game is truly a special treat, a unique experience filled with a lot of heart. You can definitely feel the love poured into this game by the developers in every area of the world. If you are looking for a beautifully crafted narrative-adventure game to get cosy with this Autumn, then I highly recommend giving Caravan SandWitch a moment of your time.
I played Caravan SandWitch on PlayStation 5 with a gifted copy from JFGamesPR. The game is available now on Steam, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch. While my copy was gifted, my review remains unbiased.
