Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp to Close

Nintendo has announced they will be closing Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp on November 28th 2024 in favour for a new version.

For Animal Crossing fans, the mobile game Pocket Camp gives mixed feelings. While a lot of people enjoy the app, people felt disheartened that Animal Crossing New Horizons did not receive the same amount of updates and support as a mobile game.

However, after 7 years, Pocket Camp is coming to a close on November 28th 2024.

It appears that Nintendo will be releasing a paid app (flat-fee) of Pocket Camp that will allow players to transfer their save data when the original service for Pocket Camp ends.

“In addition to save-data transfer, the basic gameplay and controls will be the same as Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp. However, this app will allow the player to use the included features with a one-time purchase. There will be no in-app purchases or subscription services (like Pocket Camp Club).

However, since this app will not require a continuous online connection, some features that require that connection, e.g. Market Boxes, gifts, and visiting other players’ campsites will not be available.

Also, please be aware that Leaf Tickets will not be usable, and you will not be able to transfer them to the new app.

We will announce details such as price and release date via service notifications around October.”

So far, there are no further updates on how much this new version will cost or what it will entail. Looks like we will have to wait until October to find out.
