Why You Should Share Your Gaming Passions – My Pokémon Journey

Recently I decided I wanted to start sharing some of my Pokémon collection. It is something I am very proud off but often feel that the items I collect end up on a shelf, or in a binder and nobody ever sees them. I believe that something you have a lot of passion for and spend a lot of time into should be shared with the world.

On February 18th 2023 I created a new Instagram page, purely for sharing my Pokémon card collection. I called my account HisuianBoo, after my favourite Pokémon game, Legends Arceus, and Boo being my nickname and also a reference to my favourite type of Pokémon, ghost-type.

Through creating this Instagram page I have met and befriended many likeminded people on the platform, all by sharing our love for the Pokémon franchise. I love seeing other people’s collections and I equally enjoy sharing my own. I feel that being able to share my collection online also serves as a scrapbook for myself so I can look back at the cards that I have pulled, even if I decide I no longer want to keep a card in my collection.

It feels very rewarding to share a passion with other people, and I feel that the Pokémon community is such a welcoming group that it has become one of my favourite hobbies to spend my free time on. A huge thank you to everybody in the Pokémon community on instagram. You are all amazing people and it has been a pleasure to get to know you!

If you are looking to find a community of people with similar interests, I highly recommend sharing your passions online. I find that both Twitter and Instagram can both be great platforms to find other enthusiasts.
