Q&A with… Dungeon Golf (4min read)

We are days away from WASD x IGN UK and we’ve been lucky to cross paths with the awesome Tony Gowland, Managing Director from BAFTA nominated studio, Ant Workshop. No time to waste – Let’s tee off!

How excited are you to be attending WASD x IGN UK?

“We’re really excited! This is the first UK show we’ve taken Dungeon Golf to, and having visited WASD earlier in the year I know it’s a great event with really enthusiastic crowds. Last month we showed it at Gamescom where it was in the Awesome Indies selection, and the players there got really in to it, but I reckon the home crowd will be even better.”

– Oh wow, a WASD debut, exciting!

What can players expect from your stand at WASD?

“Dungeon Golf is a pretty crazy game and we’re hoping to bring a bit of that chaos to our stand! We’ve got a life-size Jimmy Fibula skeleton who we’ll be cheekily taking around the place seeing what games he can have a go on, and have Dungeon Golf pins to give away (but only when people find me dressed as JoJo Croaker the frog). And of course two computers running Dungeon Golf so folks can try out the single player quest mode, or get involved messing up their pals in multiplayer!”

– Hold up, wait, you’re bringing a frog with you?

When do you anticipate Dungeon Golf launch?

“Dungeon Golf is launching in to Steam Early Access on Monday 18th of September which is just a couple of days after WASD, so players can give it a go at the show, give it a wishlist, and then pick it up the very next week!”

– Let us help you there, Steam.

What sweets and games will you be taking with you for your journey from Edinburgh to London?

“I’m a Haribo guy so it’ll be a big family-sized bag of Star Mix, though I’m not sure what the rest of the team will have cause these will all be for me (and to be honest I’ll probably have finished them all by Newcastle and be running up and down the train on a sugar high). Not sure game-wise, since finishing the main story in Tears of the Kingdom I haven’t really got stuck in to anything on the Switch – possibly the Advance Wars remake, that’ll pass the time nicely!”

– Give Vampire Survivors a go, it’s a great time sink 🦇 🧄

Is there anything you would like to add?

“Just that folks who can’t make it along to WASD should check the game out on Steam and also keep an eye on our social media as there will be some prizes on offer there as well.”
