7 Co-Op Games On Nintendo Switch – Perfect for Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day! ❤️

No matter if you are spending the day with a special someone, or your friends, today is the perfect day to try out and play some co-op games. Included in the list are games that you can play local co-op and online co-op, so whether your player 2 is close by or far away, you can still spend time together.

Minecraft
(Local Co-Op & Online Co-Op)

Explore randomly generated worlds and build amazing things from the simplest of homes to the grandest of castles. Play in creative mode with unlimited resources or mine deep into the world in survival mode, crafting weapons and armour to fend off the dangerous mobs.

I have a lot of memories and love for Minecraft. There is nothing better than creating a world with a bunch of friends and building something wonderful together. It is also the game that myself and my partner played together when we were getting to know each other so it holds a big place in my heart.

Unravel Two
(Local Co-Op)

In Unravel Two, create a Yarny of your very own. Then build relationships with other Yarnys in local co-op or as a single player, fostering friendship and support as you journey together.

Begin your adventure in a cold and imposing land, then watch your surroundings blossom with new life as you chase the spark of adventure. Dive into an immersive story filled with energy, exuberance, inspiration – even monsters. Approach every challenge with positivity and fearlessness to awaken the world around you, and discover an unbreakable bond between friends.

Unravel is an adorable platform adventure franchise which won me over with its announcement at E3 many years ago. While unfortunately the first Unravel game isn’t available on the Nintendo Switch, the second game is a welcome member of the Nintendo Switch family and also heavily features multiplayer. You also do not need to have played the first game to appreciate the sequel.

Snipperclips – Cut it Out, Together!
(Local Co-Op)

Snipperclips – Cut it out, together! is an action-puzzle game that’s all about communicating, co-operating and cutting out. Enjoy two-player puzzles where teamwork is key anytime, anywhere, with anyone. Grab a Joy-Con and pass another to a friend to play on the TV or in tabletop mode. You’ll have to be a cut above the rest to solve all these situations!

Snipperclips was among the very first games to be released on the console on day one and still to this day lives up to being one of the most fun multiplayer games on the console. The couch co-operative experience is very smooth and the game can be very chaotic in its nature in a super charming and fun way.

It Takes Two
(Local Co-Op & Online Co-Op)

Embark on the craziest journey of your life in It Takes Two, a genre-bending platform adventure created purely for co-op. Invite a friend to join for free with Friend’s Pass and work together across a huge variety of gleefully disruptive gameplay challenges.

Master unique and connected character abilities in every new level. Help each other through unexpected obstacles and laugh-out-loud moments. Embrace the heartfelt story of a fractured relationship.

I think if you asked anybody on what they thought was the best two player experience a game can offer I would bet nearly everybody would mention It Takes Two. It Takes Two took the couch co-op feel and multiplied it. It is a very beautiful experience and I highly recommend it to any couple or friend who wants to take part in a heartfelt story.

Phogs!
(Local Co-Op & Online Co-Op)

In PHOGS! you play as a duo of dogs on a captivating, puzzle-filled adventure. Linked by a stretchy belly, you’ll need to bark, bite and bounce your way through obstacles set across the themed worlds of Food, Sleep and Play, in co-op or single-player.

Forage through Food World, teeming with tasty treats. From hot buttered toast to chopped celery… even a river of chocolate! Stroll through Sleep World, complete with teddy bears, cushions and quilts, all nestled in the glow of the soothing night-light. Pounce through the crazy toybox of Play World, exploring a beach amusement park, a retro arcade, and everything in between. Woof!

The world design is super cute and the puzzles aren’t overly difficult, so it is a blast to play and enjoy the cute aesthetics with someone close.

Overcooked! 2
(Local Co-Op & Online Co-Op)

Out of the frying pan, into the fire…

You’ve saved the world from the Ever Peckish. Now a new threat has arisen and it’s time to get back in the kitchen to stave off the hunger of The Unbread!

Probably one of the more chaotic multiplayer games you can play, Overcooked 2 is a frantic co-operative experience where players control a number of chefs in kitchens filled with various obstacles and hazards to rapidly prepare meals to specific orders under a time limit.

Portal: Companion Collection
(Local Co-Op & Online Co-Op)

Including Portal and Portal 2, the Companion Collection comes to Nintendo Switch with all the ground-breaking gameplay, dark humor, and exploration that earned the series hundreds of awards. In Portal 2, enjoy a co-operative mode with local, split-screen and online multiplayer so you and a friend can think with portals.

Portal 2’s multiplayer story is a very fun experience for players who enjoy wacky puzzles with different mechanics. The puzzles do increase in difficulty quite quickly but it is enjoyable to have a friend to help work out the challenge together.
